1,000 messenger bags made in Vienna's heart from the original hoarding tarpaulins of the construction site of the WU campus - each uniquely capturing fragments of the graphics that marked the construction of a new architectural milestone.

When designing the construction-site hoardings for the new campus of Vienna’s University of Economics and Business, we faced a familiar dilemma:

What happens to the massive printed tarpaulins once the building phase ends?

Instead of letting them go to waste, we reframed them as raw material for design.

Crafted in Vienna by the social enterprise Gabarage, each messenger bag was cut from the original graphics—turning construction material into functional design and into a lasting memory of the city’s emerging architectural landmark and new urbanism.
