The connection of the digital and physical worlds are paramount of Trimble's mission. Through mixed reality this was possible through holographic guidance at the job site, allowing construction workers to view and align 3D-models to the site, identifying clashes and issues and reporting them back to the office before it's too late.

This solution uses mixed reality to boost productivity on construction sites. By precisely aligning holographic data with the physical environment, workers can overlay and review 3D models on-site, anticipating issues and minimizing discrepancies between digital and built conditions.

Background
Trimble’s partnership with Microsoft marked a return to mixed reality, aimed at equipping construction teams with holographic tools that improve accuracy, safety, and decision-making while reducing project waste and rework.

User Experience
The HoloLens 2 platform introduced natural, intuitive interactions that we applied to create familiar workflows for field operations. Over multiple releases, mixed reality matured into a practical, sustained way for workers to interact with spatial data directly on-site.
